How to make Active Administrator work with SQL 2005

Active Administrator with SQL 2005

  1. If you are using the database maintenance wizard, you will need to install the SQL 2005 Backward Compatibility Components on that machine.
  2. If you are using SQL 2005 Express (2005's version of MSDE), all network protocols are disabled by default so they will need to enable both TCP/IP and Named Pipes.
