Role-Based Administration
The need for security roles within an IT Organisation are not mandated by various compliance standards, but are integral part of it´s success. Limiting the scope of an administrators capability keeps the system of checks and balances in place within a well structured IT organisation. Desktop Authority now supports the creation of roles that define the scopes of administration within the desktop Authority manager. Two types of roles are supported. Global roles, which defines roles to be used throughout the Desktop Authority Manager, and Local rules which are created and used within a specific profile. Roles define, down to the level of the element type, whether those granted access via the role can view, Change, or Add/Delete specific element types. Additionally, a deny permission as a security check to ensure an admin is restricted without exception from performing a task,
