IDEAL Administration Updates

New features in IDEAL Administration version 6.7


IDEAL Administration 6.7 integrates the transfer of files and directories, as well as their access permissions (ACL), to all kinds of Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers.

This new functionality completes the migration functions already present in IDEAL Administration.

You can now transfer permissions keeping them as they are, making an automatic transfer, or a transfer under rules.


Automatic transfer:

When importing, IDEAL Administration searches for objects in the access permissions (Organizational Units, Computers, User Groups and Users) on the target computer.

Transfer under rules:
You define where IDEAL Administration must search for objects, based on the location(s) in the source domain(s).

Version 6.7 of IDEAL Administration also includes new Active Directory management of Computer and User group objects.

IDEAL Administration 6.0 has the following new features

• IDEAL Administration has a new Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 domain administration tool: IDEAL Directory. This tool allows you to display, edit and manage all Active Directory objects present on your domains and servers.



• IDEAL Directory also includes a low level Active Directory manager, equivalent to ADSIEdit, for displaying and editing LDAP attributes linked to an object.



• The Active Directory attributes displayed for each category (organizational units, groups, users and members) are fully configurable.



• As with IDEAL Administration, you have access to all the administration features for computers, groups and users. Active Directory menu from IDEAL Administration.



• New version for taking remote control, including file downloading between the server and the client, faster taking of control and an easier-to-use toolbar. Computers menu, Taking remote control.
