    Easy to install the components, User-friendly GUI, automates the discovery and deployment process.


  • Agent and/or Agent-less Operation:
    Agents can be used in secured environments or for greater control of bandwidth used during deployment. Agents are not required on targets when standard Windows Remote Management services (RPC) available.

  • No additional software/hardware requirements:
    Competitors have specific hardware and software requirements.(i.e. dedicated server, IIS, SQL)

  • Custom Install:
    Ability to deploy unsupported patches and applications using self-contained executables/MSI files. Can execute user defined scripts and batch files.

    Very thorough validation process that provides confirmation that installed patches are still valid and no components have changed or been removed.

  • Independently Tested Database
    (it's all about the database) Proprietary database - doesn't rely on the Microsoft XML database; patches independently tested for deployment and installation.

    Can control the bandwidth usage during patch deployment. (useful for slow WAN links)

  • Policy Management:
    Baseline of required updates can be defined to enforce conformance of security standards. Conformance reporting available - identify machines not in compliance with policy.

    Private Hotfixes from Microsoft can be included into the UpdateEXPERT database as requested.

  • Non-Security Patch Support:
    In addition to security patches UpdateEXPERT supports non-security patches, (i.e. stability and performance patches) and service packs for the OS and mission critical Microsoft applications.

  • Smart Plug-in for HPOV:
    Works within HP OpenView for added control. (i.e. monitoring agent events, turning agents on and off).
